Paul Hemmer Company Ranked Among Greater Cincinnati’s Largest Family-Owned Businesses

Paul Hemmer Company is proud to share that it has been ranked as the 28th largest family-owned business in Greater Cincinnati by the Cincinnati Business Courier.

The annual list recognizes the region’s largest family-owned companies based on 2025 total revenue. To qualify, companies must be majority family-owned and either have ownership across multiple family members or have been owned by the same family for two or more generations.

For Paul Hemmer Company, this recognition is especially meaningful. Since our founding in 1921, Hemmer has remained committed to building more than just commercial spaces. We have built long-standing relationships, trusted partnerships, and a reputation for doing business the right way.

More than 100 years later, that same foundation continues to guide our work across the Greater Cincinnati region and beyond.

“Being recognized among Greater Cincinnati’s largest family-owned businesses is an honor,” said Paul W. Hemmer Jr., President and CEO of Paul Hemmer Company. “Our company has been shaped by generations of leadership, dedicated employees, loyal clients, and strong community partnerships. This ranking reflects the hard work of many people who have helped carry the Hemmer name forward.”

Today, Paul Hemmer Company serves clients through a family of operating entities, including Hemmer Construction Company, Building Management Partners, and Roebling Development Company. Together, these teams provide a full range of construction, facilities maintenance, and real estate development services.

From design-build commercial construction to facility maintenance and turnkey development, Hemmer’s work is rooted in the same values that have defined the company for more than a century: integrity, accountability, craftsmanship, and long-term commitment.

Family ownership has played an important role in shaping the company’s culture. It has allowed Hemmer to take a long-term view, invest in relationships, and remain focused on decisions that support clients, employees, and the communities where we work.

That approach has helped the company grow while staying grounded in its original purpose.

As Greater Cincinnati continues to evolve, Paul Hemmer Company remains focused on helping businesses, institutions, developers, and property owners bring projects to life and keep buildings operating at their best. Whether constructing a new facility, maintaining an existing property, or supporting long-term development goals, Hemmer is proud to be a trusted partner in the region’s continued growth.

We are grateful to our employees, clients, partners, subcontractors, and community for helping make this recognition possible.

For more than 100 years, Paul Hemmer Company has been proud to call Greater Cincinnati home. We look forward to continuing that legacy for generations to come.
