Hemmer breaks ground on 520,000 s.f. industrial building

Prologis calls on Hemmer to build new distribution center in Hebron, Ky.

HEBRON, Ky. (June 11, 2015) ? Paul Hemmer Company (Hemmer) has broken ground on a 520,000 s.f. industrial facility being built on speculation for Prologis at 2125 Gateway Blvd., Hebron.

Prologis contracted with Hemmer this spring for the project, continuing a relationship that dates back 20 years. Hemmer has constructed more than 17 buildings comprising nearly 7 million square feet for Prologis, including a 770,000 s.f. center in Columbus that Hemmer finished in early 2014. Prologis is a leading global owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate.

The industrial/distribution facility, named Prologis Gateway International, is located near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. It will be state-of-the-art, with a 32-foot clear height and up to 150 dock doors. The spec project is being launched at a time of high market demand for distribution space in the region. Hemmer is applying a fast-track construction schedule for the project. This method allows fast-track construction of large buildings by utilizing pre-cast concrete wall panels that are fabricated off site and delivered to the building site. Construction is expected to be completed in December 2015.

Prologis leaders for the project are Senior Vice President Brian Marsh and Vice President Alex Vulic. The Hemmer team on the project includes Senior Vice Presidents John Curtin and Michael Hemmer, Project Manager Kevin Markesbery and Project Superintendent Steve McVey.  Project architect is Jake Williams with ATA-Beilharz Architects.
