City of Newport | General James Taylor Park

Paul Hemmer Company is serving as general contractor for the redevelopment of General James Taylor Park in Newport, Kentucky. The project will transform the riverfront site into a more welcoming and functional public space, with new gathering areas, recreational amenities and distinctive architectural features designed to take advantage of the park’s location along the Licking and Ohio rivers. Major improvements include a new overlook structure, performance bandshell, picnic shelter and entry gateway. Together, these features will create new opportunities for community events, everyday recreation and riverfront enjoyment while giving the park a stronger visual identity.
